Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development “the Belt the Road” Research Center, founded in July 2015, aims at providing decision-making consultation for the successful implementation of national agriculture international cooperation strategy, provide direction for international transformation of agricultural science and technology fruits and provide decision analysis and risk judgment for going out of agricultural enterprises and demonstration gardens. 　　　
　　　This Center has the following key works: one is to carry out the investigation on the agricultural economy of the countries along “the Belt and Road” . To carry out the investigation on the present situation of agricultural infrastructure, agricultural industry structure, agricultural investment risk, potential of agricultural trade and the situation of food security for the countries and regions along “the Belt and Road” and establish agricultural economic development strategic resource database; two is the comparative study of agricultural policies and regulations. To carry out the research on “the Belt and Road” country agriculture international cooperation mechanism and the emphasis of cooperation; carry out the comparative analysis on the main agricultural economic laws, agricultural investment trade policy, land policy and regional development policy and provide the decision-making consultation for the international cooperation of agriculture; third is to carry out planning compilation, consultation service and academic exchange; to undertake the compilation of the related planning and feasibility study report and provide development plan and decision-making consultation service for going out of agricultural enterprise and agricultural science; to carry out the academic exchange and organize the forum and seminar of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. In addition, this Center still undertake work task entrusted by departments, institution and the related departments, as well as the correlation study of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank.
　　　Since its establishment, the Center has smoothly carried out all works and successively undertaken “Research on International Cooperation Mechanism of Asian Agriculture in the Context of the Belt and Road Strategy” of Asian Development Bank, “Research on International Cooperation Strategy of China’s Agriculture of the Belt and Road” of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the projected commissioned by Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture. The establishment of this Center made up for the shortage of research strength for “the Belt and Road” country agricultural synergetic development strategy of our Institute, promoted the perfection and development of characteristic cross-disciplines of our Institute in the agricultural economy field, strengthened the construction of economic policy service platform for going out of “agricultural industry, agricultural technology and agricultural enterprise” of our country and provided more scientific research basic support for “decision think tank” of our Institute to play its full part.
