On Oct. 26, Silvia Sorescu, policy analysis officer of Development Office, Department of Trade and Agriculture, OECD, at the invitation of researcher Li Xiande, the chief scientist of “Foreign Agricultural Economy and Policy” innovation team, came to our Institute and made the academic report with the theme of “Promoting Participation in the Global Value Chain of Agricultural Food by Trade Facilitation”. 　　
　　　Researcher Li Xiande hosted the academic report. Silvia Sorescu firstly stated the connotation of global value chain, interest concern of policy marker for global value chain and the calculation method of global value chain, then introduced the connotation of trade cost and its relationship with global value chain, and finally focused on the origin and connotation of trade facilitation, OECD trade facilitation index system and its application in practice as well as the implication of trade facilitation for China’s policies. After the academic report, the participating researchers of our Institute carried out the in-depth exchange and discussion with Silvia Sorescu for the calculation method of trade cost, the calculation method of trade facilitation, the source of basic data for OECD trade facilitation index system.
　　　Silvia Sorescu, who is now a policy analysis officer of Development Office, Department of Trade and Agriculture, OECD, is one of core members in the working group, which is responsible for advertising and interpreting OECD trade facilitation index system to the other countries, and his main research fields include trade facilitation, agricultural policy and development, and trade aid, etc..
