On October 26th, Silvia Sorescu, policy analyst from OECD Department of Trade and Agriculture, Development Department of the OECD Trade and Agriculture, at the invitation of Prof. Xiande Li (Chief Scientist of the Innovation Team for Foreign Agricultural Economics and Policies) visited and proposed an academic report on “contribute to the promotion of participation in agricultural food through trade facilitation global value chain "
　　　Professor Xiande Li hosted the report. Silvia Sorescu first elaborated on the connotation of the global value chain, the interest points of the policy makers on the global value chain and the global value chain measurement method, and then introduced the connotation of the trade cost and its relationship with the global value chain participation. Finally he analyzed the source and connotation of trade facilitation, the OECD trade facilitation index system and its application in practice and the trade enlightenment to China's trade facilitation. After the academic report, our researchers had an in-depth exchange and discussion with Silvia Sorescu on issues such as trade cost calculation method, trade facilitation calculation method, and the basic data source of OECD trade facilitation index system.
　　　Mr. Silvia Sorescu currently is policy analyzer of OOECD Trade and Agriculture Development division. He is also one of the core members of the OECD Working Group which is responsible for working with OECD to disseminate and interpret OECD's trade facilitation indicators. His main research areas include trade facilitation, agricultural policy and development, trade assistance and etc.
