Wang Jimin and others took part in the 8th international symposium on environmental issues of East Asia

From December 6 to 11, 2014, Jimin Wang, the director of the institute, and Zhou Hui, a PHD in the animal husbandry economic research institute, on invitation, took part in the 8th international symposium on environmental issues of East Asia held by Kyushu University and made academic exchanges.

On the conference, the director Jimin Wang, made a report entitled the Evolution of Management Policy of Chinese Animal Husbandry Waste, introducing the evolution of management policy of Chinese animal waste over the past two decades and elaborating on the challenge and opportunity in animal waste faced by Chinese animal husbandry before putting forward the vision of China’s management on it. in addition, Doctor Hui Zhou delivered a speech called the influence of Chinese Livestock Product Consumption on the Environment, introducing the condition of Chinese livestock products consumption, expounding in details the current situation of meat consumption and presenting the idea that irrational livestock products consumption may exert negative influence on the food and environmental security.

The international symposium on environmental issues of East Asia, supported by
Japan’s science ministry and sponsored by Kyushu University, is aimed at focusing on the increasingly serious environmental problems in Asia, including the urban environment, rural environment, food security, prevention and control of desertification, water pollution control, et al. Cooperative agencies of this academic seminar involve such academic institutions as National Kochi University, tottori University, Tsinghua University,
Shanghai Jiaotong University, North West Agriculture University, Xinjiang University, Korea University, Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, attracting scholars from Thailand, Vietnam and Nepal, et al.

During his tour, Wang Jimin inspected the agriculture in suburb in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, paid a visit to direct sales store of in agricultural products in Ba Nv Region and called on the local chrysanthemum farmer households. Moreover, he also conducted academic exchanges, introducing to Japan the outline of the Agricultural Economy and Social Development Institute and important research projects it has conducted recently. At last, both discussed the further cooperation plan.
