During June 11—12, 2012, the 8th FANEA which is sponsored by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences agricultural economy and development research institution, Korea Rural economy research institution, and Japanese Ministry of agriculture, agriculture and forestry and aquatic product research institution, jointly sponsored by Jining City, Shandong Province People's government was convoked in Jining city, Shandong province. the theme of this forum is "rural development (revitalization)". Experts on the forum carried out academic research for two issues of “complete agriculture supporting policy, promote rural economic and social development” and “develop agricultural products processing and circulation, increase the income of farmers”. Wang Ren, vice president of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Mei Yonghong, deputy secretary and mayor of Jinning city attended the forum and delivered speech. Qin Fu, director of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences agricultural economy research institution, preside over the opening ceremony. More than 50 people including the experts from the China, Japan and South Korea, leaders of Jining city attended the forum.

in his speech, vice president Wang Ren pointed out that Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences always insist opening strategy, pay attention to the strengthening of international exchanges and cooperation, has established cooperative relations with agricultural scientific research and teaching institutions of 81 countries and regions in the world, 33 international agricultural research organization, six multinational company and the Gates Foundation. Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has jointly built 25 laboratory / Research Center with the United States, Japan, Holland and other international organization, 13 international organizations and foreign agricultural research institutions has established an office or Representative office in Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Among them, the South Korean Rural Economic Research Institute has been established Beijing office in 2007.

Vice president Wang Ren stressed that the development of rural areas is a major issue in the field of agricultural economic research in the world。He sincerely hoped that the participating experts and scholars will around the theme of the forum, speak out freely, express their own opinions, exchange research results, together discuss the new path, new method of rural development, and seek for the rural development plans of three countries. At the same time, he hopes the experts to cherish the exchange opportunities, enhance mutual understanding, deepen cooperation research, and make greater contribution to the Northeast Asia and the global agriculture and rural economic development.

As so far, “Forum for Agriculture Policy Research in North East Asia” has been hold 8 times. in 2003, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and development, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Institute of Rural Economic Research institution of North Korea and Japan Ministry of Agriculture agriculture and forestry aquatic product policy Research institution reached a cooperation framework to jointly organized the “Forum for Agriculture Policy Research in North East Asia”, thus forming a relatively stable cooperation mechanism of three countries agricultural economic research institution to carry out cooperative study for common concern  agricultural and rural economic development and policy issues and jointly organize the Academic Forum.
