on March 29th, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and development, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Institute of agricultural information and research institutes jointly organized the symposium, invited Dr. Duan Zhihuang, director of Chinese department of United States the world agricultural economics and Environment Research Institute and senior economist Dr. Pan Suwen to make a special report. Sun Dongsheng, deputy director, presided over the meeting, the relevant researchers and graduate students participate in the meeting.

Dr. Duan Zhihuang and Dr. Pan Suwen make special report entitled "historical development and assessment of United States Farm Bill” and “trend connotation and lessons of United States Farm Bill in 2012” respectively Dr. Duan Zhihuang, based on the development history of the United States farm bill, introduce the main contents of Farm Bill, such as commodity programs, federal crop insurance plans and insurance types et al., and deeply analysis the contribution of Farm Bill to the U.S. agricultural production sector, state the evaluation for United States Farm Bill. Dr. Pan Suwen's report mainly describes the problems of United States current Farm Bill, and carries out a trend analysis and forecast to 2012 issuing Farm Bill. The symposium also arrange the exchange and discussion step to achieve the effect of active participation and interaction
