The Report on “Urbanization and Agricultural Development Transformation” Academic Conference
“Urbanization and Agricultural Development Transformation” academic conference, which was hosted by Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development, CAAS, and undertaken by International Trade Department, Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development, CAAS was held in Hubei Building on 7th September.
More than 40 experts and scholars, including Sun Zhongcai, a professor at Renmin University of China, Wang Jimin and Sun Dongsheng, deputy directors in the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development, CAAS, Wu Laping, a professor at China Agricultural University, Hu Bingchuan, associate researcher in Rural Development Institute Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Wang Weihua, president of Hubei Villages and Towns Construction Association.
Sun Dongsheng, deputy director of our institute addressed the meeting. Li Xiande, director of Institute of International Agricultural Economics and Trade, and president Li Yuqin, separately hosted the morning and afternoon seminar.
Professor Sun Zhongcai, professor Wu Laping, associate researcher Hu Bingchuan, president Wang Weihua, researcher Wang Jimin, researcher Liu Heguang and associate Zhong Yu separately made the academic reports with the theme of “Developing Higher Education and Promoting the Labor Transfer”, “Underestimate of China’s Grain Consumption—Analysis based on the Perspective of Migrant Workers”, “Research on Evolutionary Path of Food Consumption in the Context of Urbanization”, “New Village Emerging—Quaternity Beautiful Rural Reconstruction Hubei Pattern”, “Development Experience of World Animal Husbandry and Development Countermeasures of Our Country’s Animal Husbandry”, “Research on the Influence of Demographic Change on Grain Demand based on the Perspective of Space-time Transition” and “Phase Change of Economic Growth and Upgrading of Agricultural Transformation”.
Deputy director Liu Heguang summarized the meeting. This meeting discussed the new changes and the future development paths of China’s agriculture in the context of urbanization, provided the platform of in-depth exchange for the scholars who focused on the urbanization process and agricultural development transformation, and had important realistic significance and theoretical value.
