On July 22, the researcher Wang Xiudong, at the invitation of “Fudan-Gansu Silk Roads Economic Belt Synergetic Development Research Institute”, conducted field investigations in Gaotai oasis agriculture ten thousand vegetable base, Zhangye corn seed production industry, Central Asian vegetable export base, Qianjin animal husbandry, Zhangye agricultural model garden and other Hexi oasis featured agriculture. On July 23, the researcher Wang Xiudong was invited to attend “2016 Hexi Corridor Development Forum” and made the special academic report of “Prospect for Agricultural Cooperation between Hexi Corridor and Central Asia in the Context of Silk Roads Economic Belt Construction” in the meeting. 　　　
　　　The researcher Wang Xiudong carried out the comprehensive and system analysis for the cooperation prospects between Hexi Corridor and the five countries in Central Asia from six aspects, including “the Belt and Road” strategy re-cognition, Hexi Corridor’s agricultural features and advantages, Central Asia’s agricultural features and advantages, the background and status of agricultural cooperation between our country and Central Asia, opportunities for cooperation between Hexi area and the five countries in the Central Asia in the context of “Silk Road Economic Belt” construction and prospects for cooperation between Hexi area and the five countries in the Central Asia. The researcher Wang Xiudong started with the analysis of new situation for “the Belt and Road” construction, summarized resource advantages, environmental advantages and regional advantages of agricultural development in Hexi area, analyzed the possibility of agricultural cooperation between the five countries in the Central Asia and Hexi area and thought Hexi area has a larger cooperative space with the five countries in the Central Asia in the aspects of agricultural trade, agricultural product processing, agricultural science and agricultural investment. The report of the researcher Wang Xiudong caused a strong reaction on the spot. The participating experts, scholars and entrepreneurs carried out a heated discussion with the researcher Wang Xiudong for the contents in the report, and reached broad consensus.
　　　This forum, with the theme of “Hexi Corridor oasis agriculture characteristic industry development”, made the academic exchange and discussion on the agricultural cooperation between Hexi Corridor and the Central Asia, economic transition, agricultural development and other topics in the context of agricultural modernization of Hexi Corridor and Silk Road Economic Belt. This forum aimed to further promote the exchange and cooperation between colleges, scientific research institutions, agricultural product enterprises and government departments in the field of agricultural economy, and was significant to the sustainable development of oasis agriculture in the Hexi Corridor. More than 200 people, including the expert professors from Fudan University, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, East China Normal University, Northwest Normal University, Northwest Agriculture& Forestry University, Xinjiang University, Shihezi University of Xinjiang, Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics and other colleges, as well as leadership expert in the related fields, the related industry entrepreneurs and the students of Hexi University attended the forum.
