Conclusion on Wang Jimin, deputy director of IAED, leads a team to Thailand to implement the project made on 21st Meeting of Joint Trade Committee of Science & Technology Cooperation between Chinese Government and Thai Government

          Being invited by Doctor Royol Chitradon, the director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information, Wang Jimin, deputy director of IAED, Mao Shiping, division head of scientific research, Zhu Liwen (researcher), Liu Jing (researcher) and Wang Yan (associate researcher) went to Thailand to implement the project achieved on 21st meeting of Joint Trade Committee of Science & Technology Cooperation between Chinese government and Thai government.    
   15 people, including Wang Jimin (deputy director of IAED), Doctor Royboon Rassameethes (deputy director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information) other researchers and coordinators, held a meeting. On the meeting, both parties confirmed the visit agenda and discussed the future plans and key coordination related to research fields. Besides, both parties agreed that in the future, both parties will lay more attention to the cooperation related to community water resource management and adaption to climate change. The attendees had a field survey on the methods and successful experience that Thai government used to slow down the flood and drought at the suburb in Bangkok and Chiengmai when they were visiting Thailand. By the field survey, it was found that Thai government had successful experience for us to learn in community water resource management and structure adjustment of crop planting. At the same time, we can learn their modes from the successful cases.
   After the visit in Thailand, there made an analysis and conclusion on Thailand’s successful experience related to community water resource management and drought & flood slow-down, by which the research ability related to how to balance water supply and water demand, how to deal with water resource management, how to adjust the structure of crop planting can be enhanced; also, by making an conclusion on the experience and mode related to Thailand’s successful adaption to the climate change, China can learn a lot. From May 12, 2015 to May 15, 2015, Royboon Rassameethes (deputy director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information) and other five people visited IAED, who had a field visit on the status that how China is dealing with climate abnormality (like slowing down drought and flood) in Hebei.
