On November 11th, at the invitation of “Agricultural products market and trade policy” Innovation team, Dr. Xu Shixun Taiwan University Agricultural and Economic department came to give an academic report entitled “the application of CGE model in economy research ".

Dr. Qin Fu, Chief of “Agricultural products market and trade policy” Innovation team, and Researcher Zhao Yifu, director of agricultural police research center, presided over the symposium together. Professor Xu Shixun first introduced the basic principle, the rise and the evolution of CGE model analysis method, and then introduced the construction and application of the General Equilibrium Model for Taiwanese Economy and Environment (GEMTEE), especially for the Introduction and policy implication of the population module Innovation, finally report the current process of SUSFANS：HORIZON2020 PROJECT. At the end of the report, the researchers and Professor Xu conducted a lively interactive exchange.

Dr. Xu Shixun has been engaged in the research of applied general equilibrium analysis, international trade, production economics, resources and environmental economics area for a long term. He entered into the National Taiwan University to study agricultural economics in 1975, went to the United States to study in 1983, graduated from the Texas A&M University in economics and received a doctorate in 1991, from 1997 to Now, been a teacher in National Taiwan University; he was served as director of the Department of Agricultural Economics and agricultural economics research institute. At present, he serves as member of Taiwan's "Council of agriculture" fertilizer price review Subcommittee, Purdue University Global trade analysis (GTAP) Research Center researchers and other duties.
