Six people from Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information visited IAED
From May 4 to 8, Doctor Royboon Rassameethes (deputy director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information) and other five people were invited by Resource and IAED Environmental Economy Research Office to have an academic exchange for the 21st meeting of Sino-Thailand Cooperation Joint Committee.
On May 4, there was a meeting to discuss the problems related to “community water resource management under climate change”, where Doctor Royboon Rassameethes (deputy director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information) and other researchers (both from Thailand and China) were present. From May 6 to 8, 9 people, including Liu Jing and Doctor Royboon Rassameethes (deputy director of Thailand Research Institute of Water Conservancy and Agriculture Information) etc., went to Henhu Dam in Lu Liang County (Qujing Yunan) to have a filed survey on the middle sized irrigated area. There, they were introduced the mechanism construction and reformation status by local officers. Moreover, they learned about the experience in deal with insufficient water, drought and flood etc.
On the meeting, both parties confirmed the future visit agenda. Finally, both parties agreed that they would strengthen cooperation in order to better overcome the difficulties related to drought, poverty and climate change etc.
