On Nov. 29, 2014, CSI and Ministry of Agriculture of Fiji officially signed the Implementation Contract for the project. In this Contract, it is set that the project is to be valid for 2 years, from Jan. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2016. Project content: 6 Chinese technicians and experts are to be sent to Fiji for two years, who are going to work on rice breeding, planting demonstration and technical promotion; meanwhile, these technicians and experts will give training to Fiji’s technicians. Fiji will arrange 10 officers from Ministry of Agriculture and senior technicians to China to join the training (Training on Rice Development and Production Management) for 15 days; China will provide some agricultural devices and small-sized tools which are applicable for the local production; 4 experts will be sent to the production site for 30 days, who are going to help with the after-sales services like equipment installation, debugging, usage and maintenance etc. If it is approved by Party A and the items are covered by the assistance funds, Party A will provide Party B with some fixed assets according to the actual situation, including traffic tools, special equipment, life facility and office facility etc. By fund assistance, material donation and technical training, it tries to cultivate a group of technicians who not only well know about agriculture techniques but also have operation abilities. In this way, comprehensive strength in producing rice will be greatly enhanced in Fiji and Fiji will set up a complete system for agricultural promotion. Definitely, rice industry will be promoted and optimized, which will greatly solve the safety problems suffered by grain in Fiji.
