Being invited by OECD and Wageningen University (Holland), Xiande Li, IAED researcher, and Yangfen Chen, deputy research in IAED, went to France and Holland from Apr. 24 to May 3 to have an academic exchange.
　　     Xiande Li made an academic report on China’s Agriculture and Agricultural policies in OECD, introducing the current situation of China’s agriculture, major challenges encountered by China’s agriculture, agricultural policies and reforms being carried out; meanwhile, he, together with peers from OECD, discussed a series of problems related to agriculture, like price gap between China’s grain and international grain, progress of the reform on target price, scale operation of small-scale production by peasants and policy implementation etc. OECD organized 6 special academic reports and discussion meetings. On the academic reports and discussion meetings, six experts, including Jose Enrique Garcilazo, OECD rural and regional project director, Stephen Thomsen, director of projects about investment policy review, and Andrzej Kwiecinski, senior economist of Agriculture and Trade Department, had a discussion on rural development, investment (including agricultural investment) and innovation in agricultural technology etc.
　　　In Holland, we had a discussion with Doctor Huib Silvis and professor Nico Heerink about the agricultural policies in Holland and overseas land investment etc. Xiande Li proposes his ideas on how to well do the study work done by doctors cultivated by both IAED and Wageningen University, as well as the doctors’ theses.
