On Sep.6, Min Qingwen, the researcher of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource Research, CAS, at the invitation of the researcher Li Xiande, the chief scientist of “Foreign Agricultural Economy and Policy” innovation team, came to our institute and made the academic report with the theme of “Agricultural Heritage and its Protection’s Progress and Prospects”. 　　　
　　　The researcher Li Xiande hosted the academic report. The researcher Min Qingwen focused on our country’s important agricultural heritages and analyzed the several important work in the agricultural heritage protection, on the basis of further elaborating agricultural heritage and its features, as well as the progress and results of agricultural heritage protection. After the academic report, the scientific research personnel and graduate students of our institute who attended the meeting carried out the in-depth exchange and discussion with the researcher Min Qingwen for the main difficulties of agricultural heritage protection faced by our country.
　　　Min Qingwen, who is now the researcher of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource Research, CAS, deputy director of Natural and Cultural Heritage Research Center, the chairman of Scientific Advisory Group (SAG), Global Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the executive chairmen of East Asia Region Agricultural Heritage Soceity (ERAHS), as well as deputy director and secretary general of the first Global/Chinese Important Agricultural Heritage Specialist Committee, Ministry of Agriculture, won “2013 FAO Global Important Agricultural Heritage Special Contribution Award” in 2013. His main research fields include ecological agriculture and agricultural heritage, resource ecology and regional sustainable development, etc..
